Beauty Within

Beauty Within
(c) 2011 shannan suzzette taylor

my soul is weary
this train’s had a long hard run
but life is clearing
to see the things
I left undone
my time is nearing
to sit and watch the wild horses run
I will not ride like thunder
I will not sail too fast again
for now I sit in silent slumber
behold the beauty I find within

Fifteen Promises of the Rosary
As you may have read on our rosary history page, St. Dominic & Blessed Alan were strong advocates of promoting the rosary and the special graces that came along with this holy devotion. Through St. Dominic and Blessed Alan, it is widely accepted that our Blessed Mother Mary granted fifteen promises to all those who recite the rosary.

Our favorite promise is #1 on the list – Signal Graces! These are signs sent by God to help us make the right decisions in life. By praying the rosary, not only are you promised signs, but you are promised divine assistance with all aspects of your life.

1. Whoever shall faithfully serve me by the recitation of the Rosary, shall receive signal graces.
2. I promise my special protection and the greatest graces to all those who shall recite the Rosary.
3. The Rosary will be a powerful armor against hell. It will destroy vice, decrease sin and defeat heresies.
4. It will cause virtue and good works to flourish; it will obtain for souls the abundant mercy of God; it will withdraw the hearts of men from the love of the world and its vanities, and will lift them to the desire of eternal things. Oh, that souls would sanctify themselves by this means.
5. Those who recommend themselves to me by the recitation of the Rosary shall not perish.
6. Whoever shall recite the Rosary devoutly, applying himself to the consideration of its sacred Mysteries shall never be conquered by misfortune. God will not chastise him in His justice, he shall not perish by an unprovided death; if he be just, he shall remain in the grace of God, and become worthy of eternal life.
7. Whoever shall have a true devotion for the Rosary shall not die without the sacraments of the Church.
8. Those who are faithful to recite the Rosary shall have during their life and at their death, the light of God and the plentitude of His graces; at the moment of death they shall participate in the merits of the saints in paradise.
9. I shall deliver from purgatory those who have been devoted to the Rosary.
10. The faithful children of the Rosary shall merit a high degree of glory in heaven.
11. You shall obtain all you ask of me by the recitation of the Rosary.
12. All those who propagate the holy Rosary shall be aided by me in their necessities.
13. I have obtained from my Divine Son that all the advocates of the Rosary shall have for intercessors the entire celestial court during their life and at the hour of death.
14. All who recite the Rosary are my sons, and brothers of my only son, Jesus Christ.
15. Devotion to my Rosary is a great sign of predestination.

Forgotten, But Not Lost

Forgotten, But Not Lost
Daily Kabbalah – Yehuda Berg
Sunday June 19, 2011

In the depths of your soul you know everything you need to do to achieve personal transformation. While in the womb, you were shown all the secrets of the universe, all of your past life experiences, and—most importantly—the various moments of transformation you need to achieve during your life.

But, to preserve your free will, an angel erased your memory of everything you learned.

Create the intention to have the strength, intuition and courage to remember, recognize and embrace all the challenges that you came to this world to conquer. Ask to receive an awareness of your mission in life.

Daily Kabbalah Tune Up: Transgression Into Virtue Transgression Into Virtue
Saturday June 18, 2011
We all do some pretty bad things in our life, and some of us want to take responsibility for that. When it comes to ‘repenting,’ it’s not about beating ourselves over the head. It’s about transforming the transgression into a virtue.
It’s never JUST about the 1%–about what you did. It’s about where your head is at. It’s about what consciousness was born as a result of that action. That’s why angels are in heaven and people are down here on earth.

If the 1% thing you did (i.e. drugs, cheating, hurting someone) was what needed to happen to finally get your head in the right place to say, “I’ve had enough of this…” then that is how the transgression becomes a virtue.

War and Beauty … Life Remains to Bloom Again
(c) 2011 shannan suzzette taylor

beauty blooms in the aftermath
when all is still and barren
when the last leaves fell to the ground
nameless people lost in a war
without their heart’s consent
buried in the ashes of yesterday
what lives on is life
as the ground brings a bloom to the surface
as if to say
“you did not kill life itself
but simply took your own heart

Letter from St. Therese to Leonie,
November 5, 1893

“Consider the oaks of our countryside, how crooked they are; they thrust their branches to right and left, nothing checks them so they never reach a great height.”

“On the other hand, consider the oaks of the forest, which are hemmed in on all sides, they see light only up above, so their trunk is free of all those shapeless branches which rob it of the sap needed to lift it aloft. It sees only heaven, so all its strength is turned in that direction, and soon it attains a prodigious height.”

“In the religious life the soul like the young oak is hemmed in on all sides by its rule. All its movements are hampered, interfered with by the other trees…. But it has light when it looks toward heaven, there alone it can rest its gaze, never upon anything below, it need not be afraid of rising too high.”
